2006 Spring Conference
In the spring of 2006, UNOPA hosted the NEOPA Spring Conference at the UNL East Campus Union. Those in attendance learned about the diversity and similarities of our members as we evaluated the characteristics of each flower of the theme for the Conference, "Daffodils, Daisies, and Dandelions". |
| Our morning keynote speaker, Vicki Highstreet, gave us some insight on how to interact and work with our co-workers. The examples she gave in her presentation can be beneficial not only in the workforce but in our own personal lives. |
Patt Harper was our afternoon keynote speaker. Patt reminded all of us that it is good to laugh. She said using humor to accomplish your daily tasks allows for a positive and productive environment. |
| Cathie Fife's, "Dress to Impress," breakout session was the highest rated session during the Conference. Cathie told us despite age, shape, history, and circumstances, everyone can look good in their skin. A major factor in how one looks is simply by having a good attitude. |
At the Social the night before the Conference, the Fundraising Committee put together an awesome auction. The auction was NEOPA's major fundraising project and it was a huge success. |
| At each of our spring conferences, we install our elected officers and Board of Directors for the upcoming year. Here, members fellowship together at the evening meal. The installation is a tradition that helps instill a sense of pride in membership and fellowship with our friends from across the state. |
Each July the newly elected officers and Board begin their year of service. Personal and professional growth is the result of service to our fellow office staff. Life-long friendships also result from these relationships. |
| Did we mention friends and fun - a winning combination! |
