2006 National Conference in Dallas, Texas

	NAEOP's annual conference for 2006 was held in July in Dallas, Texas.
Lisa Morehouse, CEOE (left) and Lola Young, CEOE, were installed as NAEOP board members on Friday evening during the conference. Lisa will serve as the Administrative Council chair and Lola is serving as the Central Area Director.
	Twenty-eight educational office staff from Nebraska associations attended this conference. Here, some of our members participate in the awards luncheon and meet others from another state. 430 national members were in attendance this year.
LPSAOP, the Lincoln Public Schools Association for Office Professionals, won second place for their newsletter The Chronicle. NEOPA was awarded second place for our website, and UNOPA was awarded third place for their website. NAEOP issues a number of national awards for newsletters, membership growth, and websites.
	Besides workshops, educational credit, general business sessions, hospitality rooms, and lots of networking, there is also time for some socializing and fun. There are usually tours before and after each conference for the participants and their guests.
There are general business sessions for members of NAEOP to elect people to committees and to hear business sent forward from the Advisory Council delegates. The opening session includes a flag ceremony with Presidents of each association carrying their state flag. Each state wears colors chosen by their members to represent their state. Nebraska members have chosen to wear navy blue and gold, our state flag colors. Deb Ryan and Carol Bom before the flag ceremony.
	And did we mention fun?! Here members are enjoying a luncheon meeting together. Carol from Lincoln was a happy winner of a 50/50 fundraiser at the conference. Food - fellowship - fun - a winning combination anytime!
