2005 Fall Workshop at ESU #3 in Omaha
 |
Congratulations to Christine Cary, CEOE, (center) on receiving the NEOPA Office Professional of the Year Award. This award is presented annually at the NEOPA Fall Workshop. She will be Nebraska's representative at the NAEOP conference in July of 2006 which will be held in Dallas, Texas this year. |
| One of our presenters, Sharon Hakel-Hatton, gave an informative and helpful session on grammar and sentence structure. Our members had asked for a hands-on workshop, and our Fall Workshop in 2005 was what they requested! We spent the morning brushing up on our grammar skills and remembered some of those rules we had forgotten - a great tool! Here, Sharon listens intently to a question from the audience. |

 |
Hands-on training is carried over as one of our members asks Sharon a question after her presentation. Workshops are small enough in size so that members receive individual attention when requested. |
| Members listen intently as key tips are shared during our work sessions. At most of our workshops, we also take time for lunch and a general business meeting. |

Ranelle Maltas from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, presented a session about Tips and Tricks about Microsoft Word. Most office workers use this software, so it was a treat to learn some new keys to working smarter, quicker, and not harder! We all need this type of help in today's busy office. |
| One of the benefits of membership in NEOPA is the friendships that you make and keep. There is a bond between educational office professionals. We all deal with similar situations in our unique office settings. As we share what we learn with each other in our day to day not-so-routine work, we all benefit from this networking. |
