Nebraska Educational Office Professionals Association (NEOPA)

Our History

The Nebraska Educational Office Professionals Association (NEOPA) was founded in May of 1964. The association received affiliation with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals on July 20, 1964. In 2004, at its Spring Conference, the association celebrated 40 years of service, recognition, fellowship and information. NEOPA is proud to be affiliated with the National Association of Educational Office Professionals, (NAEOP).

Our logo is in the shape of a wheel to represent our pioneer spirit and belief that we can accomplish our goals if we continue to perservere as our ancestors did in settling Nebraska. Moving into the new millenium and the age of computers, this circle represents NEOPA as the central hub or central computer with the spokes being the cables needed to reach the other computers on the network. Like a computer network, information travels back and forth from the server and the other computers on the network. Our conferences are designed with this overall purpose of offering the participants not only the opportunity to receive information, but also to share their own experiences. Each person who attends a conference brings information and experiences that will enhance the conference for all the other participants.

NEOPA is run by a group of officers and directors, newly appointed and elected each year. Twice a year, professional growth opportunities are offered by a conference, held in a local association's city. This year's president, Becky Hasting's theme is "The Key to Success is You! "

Our local associations include LPSAOP, the Lincoln Public Schools Association for Office Professionals, in Lincoln, Nebraska; UNOPA, the University of Nebraska Office Professionals Association, in Lincoln, Nebraska; OEOPA, the Omaha Educational Office Professionals Association in Omaha, Nebraska; WEOPA, Wayne Educational Office Professionals Association in Wayne, Nebraska; SEOPA, Sandhills Educational Office Professionals Association; NDEAOP, Nebraska Department of Education Association of Office Professionals; the NEOPA Past Presidents association; and, FROLIKers, the UNOPA Past Presidents association.
